Waves of Displacement
2025 - ongoing
As a London resident and frequent visitor to the east and south coast, I began this project to explore the tension between city life and the urge to escape it. By combining Brixton’s streets with coastal imagery, I use water as a metaphor — both cleansing and destructive. This project reflects how people are emotionally and physically displaced under the growing pressures of life in London. It questions whether retreating to the coast is a solution or another wave of gentrification of both spaces.
